Is it possible to have a tree delivered to my front door?

Our standard policy is to deliver the tree to the front door of the apartment, house or office and bring it inside unless the customer specifies otherwise. Please note that deliveries above the 2nd floor, if the building does not have an elevator or the tree is too large for the elevator, are a paid service - 3.00€ for each floor above the 2nd.

How will I know when the tree will be delivered? Can I choose the time?

We will send you a text message the evening before the tree is due to be delivered with the estimated delivery time (usually 2 hours interval). When you place your order, you can specify your preferred delivery time in the comments (e.g. shop/office opening hours, evening after 17:00, etc.). However, please note that we cannot promise delivery at a specific time (e.g. exactly 9:30 a.m. or any other exact time), as delivery times can be affected by weather, traffic, and the progress of previous deliveries.

Do you deliver outside Riga?

Yes, we deliver all over Latvia. Riga and surrounding regions are divided into delivery zones, according to which the delivery prices are calculated. In the rest of Latvia, the delivery cost is 1.50€/km from Ulbrokas Street 42B, Riga. On certain dates there are special delivery days in the regions when deliveries are made at a reduced, fixed price.

Christmas trees purchased at a selling point have a different delivery rates (available at the selling points).

Installation

What is included in the “Christmas Tree Installation” service?

Christmas tree installation includes placing the tree in the stand. For large trees, additional equipment such as a hoist or crane is also included.

The tree stand is not included in the installation price. Please note that non-standard solutions are not included in the price (e.g. fixing the stand in a non-standard situation, placing the tree in a flower pot, installing the tree in an incorrectly sized stand, etc.).

If the customer's stand does not fit the tree, or if there are circumstances that have not been brought to the attention of the personnel, the personnel has the right not to perform the service with a refund or reduction in the price of the service.

Is it possible to buy a tree stand at the time of delivery if I don’t have one or it doesn’t fit the tree?

Yes, our staff usually has spare tree stands with them. If necessary, it can be purchased at the time of delivery. Please note that the stands we carry are for trees up to 3.5m and for indoor use. For larger trees and outdoor use, please request a stand when placing your order.

Is it possible to rent a tree stand?

Is it possible to rent a tree stand?

Yes, we also offer stand rental - you can order one when you place your order, or rent one on delivery if your stand is not suitable. Stand rental is only available if you also order tree removal (dismantling).

Is it possible to order a tree with decorations?

Yes, depending on the style of decoration chosen, we decorate the tree ourselves or with our partners. It is possible to decorate the tree with your own decorations or choose from our range of decorations. If you wish to order a decorated tree, please order at least 3 weeks in advance.

What is the difference between Latvian spruce, Nordmann fir and Blue spruce?

Latvian spruce has short, sharp, dark green needles. Spruces are shaped and dense. It has a pleasant aroma. A cut Latvian spruce lasts ~7-10 days indoors, ~2-2.5 weeks in a pot. After that the needles fall off quickly.

Nordmann fir has long, soft, flat needles - vibrant green on top and silvery underneath. The long needles and thick branches make the fir particularly stout. The fir does not have a strong aroma. A cut Nordmann fir will last ~2-2.5 weeks indoors, ~3-4 weeks in a pot. After that, the fir begins to wilt - needles and branches go down.

Blue spruce has a medium-long, very sharp needle. The color of the needles can vary from greenish to greyish. The spruces are shaped and thick. It can have an unpleasant smell, especially after changes in temperature and when touched (e.g. when brought indoors). The cut blue spruce lasts ~7-10 days indoors, ~2-2.5 weeks in a pot. After that, the needles fall off quickly.

How long will the tree last indoors?

The durability of the tree depends on both the tree chosen and its location during the holiday season. Christmas trees will certainly last longer in cool and humid places; pots will last longer than cut trees.

Cut Latvian and blue spruces last ~7-10 days indoors and ~2-2.5 weeks in a pot. After that, spruce will shed needles quickly.

Nordmann fir lasts ~2-2.5 weeks indoors and ~3-4 weeks in a pot. After that, the fir begins to wilt - needles and branches hang down.

If conditions are right, the tree may last longer, but we cannot guarantee this.

Cut Christmas trees can last outdoors until spring.

Will the tree in the pot grow after Christmas?

We offer both trees with a complete root system (usually all Nordmann trees, as well as some sizes of Latvian and blue spruces) and trees with cut roots (the largest Latvian and silver spruces in pots). In any case, it should be remembered that these are Christmas trees, not seedlings, and that after a long period in a warm room, the tree must wait for suitable conditions for planting. The chances of a tree growing are about 50/50, but the bigger the tree, the less likely it is to grow.

Why are the needles on the bottom of the tree thinner or brown?

Christmas trees are shaped to be extra thick and shapely. Because of the thickness of the tree, the sun does not reach the lower branches of the tree, especially near the trunk. As a result, the needles may be thinner or brown, but this usually does not affect the overall appearance of the tree.

Is it possible to rent a Christmas Tree?

We offer a Christmas tree rental service if you need a tree for a short event - 1-2 days. After a longer stay indoors, it is usually not possible to reuse the trees, so we offer to buy them.

Tree rental is sometimes confused with the service of bringing the tree in and taking it away or dismantling it. Of course we offer this as well.

Is it possible to come to the nursery and select a Christmas tree?

Unfortunately, we do not offer this service as we grow trees in several locations and our staff is not always on site. However, we take great care in selecting trees for our customers. However, if you would like to select your tree in person, you can do so at one of our retail locations (open from the beginning of December).

How is the size of the tree determined?

Christmas trees are measured from the trunk to the top. The tree may be slightly longer than the selected size, but it will not be smaller. For potted trees, the size is given along with the height of the pot.

Dismantling

What is included in the “Christmas Tree Dismantling” service?

During the dismantling process, our staff on site will cut the tree into smaller pieces (separate the branches from the trunk; if necessary, cut the trunk into smaller pieces as well), bag it up, and sweep it up behind them (note that some needles may remain). In some cases, when staff time is limited, the tree is wrapped in a special material and removed without needles littering rooms and stairways. Christmas trees are never thrown out of windows. Dismantling the tree is a great solution to not having to worry about taking the tree out of the apartment, dirtying the stairs, and throwing the tree by the garbage containers.

What happens to the tree after dismantling?

After dismantling, the driest trees are chipped and the freshest are given to our partners - animal farms and mini zoos. We try to plant the freshest trees in pots back in the nursery.

Is it possible to order the dismantling of a Christmas tree if the tree was not ordered from Egļu serviss or if the dismantling was not requested when the tree was ordered?

Yes, in Riga, Ādaži, Jūrmala, Ķekava and surrounding areas we offer dismantling of Christmas trees that have not been purchased from us or for which this service has not been ordered in advance.

Is it possible to find out what trees are available at a particular selling point?

Unfortunately, this is not an option, as the range of Christmas trees available changes rapidly depending on demand in a given location.

Is it possible to pay by card at the selling points?

Yes, it is possible to pay with a payment card at all "Egļu serviss" selling points.

Is it possible to order delivery for a Christmas tree purchased at the selling point?

Yes, you can order the delivery and installation of your tree at the selling point. Please note that in most cases delivery is only possible the next day (or even the day after in some cases).

Branches and Advent wreaths

Which branches are most suitable for wreaths and decorations?

We recommend using Nobilis fir branches for wreaths and decorations because they are soft, flexible and durable. As the branches dry, they become dry and gray and the needles almost don't fall off. Nordmann fir branches can also be used, but as they dry, more needles will fall off and the branches will look very different from their original appearance.

Are silver fir or blue spruce branches available?

Unfortunately, we do not offer silver fir or blue spruce branches as they have a very sharp needle and shed quickly. However, we do offer Nobilis branches, which are often confused with silver fir because of their grayish color. They are soft and very strong.

Are there branches with cones available?

The branches are most often available without cones. But in rare cases, Latvian spruce branches with cones may be available. Please enquire individually.

Is it possible to send branches / wreaths to the parcel machine?

Yes, branches and wreaths can be sent in small quantities via the parcel machine. We have found that an M size locker can hold 2.5 kg of branches or 1-2 Advent wreaths (small or medium only). An L size locker can hold 5kg or 7.5kg of branches or ~4 small wreaths or 2 medium or 1 large wreath. For larger quantities, please use our delivery service or place your order for collection at our collection point at 44a Ulbrokas Street, Riga.

Placing an order

Can I place an order over the phone?

In order to avoid misunderstandings, mistakes or similar incidents, please place your order on our website. In this case, you will also receive a copy of your order and you can always check the details of your order (date, size of tree, etc.).

Is my order automatically confirmed after I place it?

After submitting your order, you will receive an email confirmation that your order has been successfully placed. A customer service representative will contact you within 1 business day to confirm the order or clarify details if there are any uncertainties or if delivery cannot be made on the date/time selected. If you choose to pay by bank transfer, an invoice will be issued after the order has been confirmed by our staff.

Can I pay for my order by cash / credit card?

Yes, when ordering you can choose the payment method that suits you best - by bank transfer (in which case you will be invoiced in advance), in cash (at the time of delivery) or by credit card at the time of delivery.

Can I make changes to my order after I place it?

Yes, you will be able to change the delivery/dismantling date and time, select additional services or modify the order by contacting our customer service.

How far in advance should I order?

We recommend that you order your tree at least one week in advance to ensure that your desired delivery date is available. Orders are accepted until 15:00 on the previous working day, if there are still free delivery times.

Is it possible to send pictures of the trees for selection before delivery? Is it possible to bring several trees for selection?

Unfortunately, it is not possible. But the employees of "Egļu serviss" carefully evaluate and select the ordered trees before delivery. If you don't like the tree, we will offer you a replacement.
