Nobilis fir (also called Noble fir) needles are about 1-3.5 cm long and dull blue-green in color. They are arranged in a spiral on the branch and point upward. Because of their grayish color, Nobilis branches are often confused with blue spruce. However, unlike the blue spruce, the Nobilis needle is not pungent and has no specific aroma. Nobilis is most commonly used in various Christmas decorations, such as Advent wreaths and compositions. Nobilis fir branches are particularly durable, their needles are very resistant to decay, so decorations can last for months. If left indoors, the needles will turn gray and dry out, but if left untouched, they will shed very little. They can be combined with Nordmann fir branches, eucalyptus or other plants for a more interesting accent and play of color. If you want to make an Advent wreath with Nobilis fir branches, calculate that a 5 kg package is enough for ~3 medium-sized wreaths (~40 cm). Of course, the volume will vary depending on the technique used, whether other branches and plants are added, the thickness of the base, and other details.
